GP3 announces testing plans

The GP3 Series has confirmed that there will be eight days of testing prior to the start of the 2011 season. Pre-season running will open with an initial two-day test at Paul Ricard on March 3-4. That will be followed by three days at Silverstone on March 29-31, and will conclude with another three days at the Circuit de Catalunya on April 12-14

Todt: New tracks must create passing

FIA president Jean Todt says new circuits will have to prove that they provide adequate overtaking opportunities, and has suggested that changes to current tracks to improve the spectacle could be on the cards. His comments follow the difficulty in passing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, during which title contenders Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber could not get back through traffic following their pitstops

Pirelli exceeds drivers? expectations

Pirelli has exceeded expectations on its return to Formula 1 after 19 years away, according to many of the leading drivers who sampled the Italian company's rubber for the first time in Abu Dhabi. All 12 teams ran at Yas Marina today, the first time that Pirelli tyres have run on any car other that the Toyota TF109 test mule. With teams focusing on understanding the characteristics of the tyres and how they will change the aerodynamic and suspension requirements of their 2011 cars, most drivers were positive with their feedback.
