No Mixed Feelings About This Mixed Class Shindig

The inaugural season of the iRacing Grand Touring Cup Multiclass series kicked-off Week One of the 2011 Season One tour at Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia, and judging by the attendance numbers, this new online racing series is off to a roaring start.  A total of 670 iRacers turned out to participate in the first week of this new series, which features the Jetta TDI Cup and the MX-5 Cup/Roadster participating in a multiclass competition, with Jetta drivers squaring-off in the Jetta class, and the MX-5 Cup and Roadster drivers competing in the MX-5 class; 422 MX-5 drivers showed up to race, and 248 Jetta drivers came along for the ride. Wurz happy with first FIA Academy day

Alex Wurz has praised the work of the FIA Institute Academy after the opening day of the inaugural scheme in Austria. Eighteen drivers from across the world will be narrowed down to a final 10, who will receive tuition from ex-F1 driver Wurz and former World Rally champion co-driver Robert Reid throughout 2011

Capirossi eyes 100th podium in 2011

Loris Capirossi says he will do his best to make sure he achieves his 100th podium in the world championship as he starts a new era with the Pramac Ducati team. HRT reveals first image of new car

HRT has unveiled the first graphic images of its new F111, and the revamped colour scheme that it will race with in 2011. Following its battle just to get on the grid last year, team principal Colin Kolles has worked hard this winter to give the team a stable platform with which to make progress with in the season ahead. Lotus positive after extra Valencia day

Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen finally completed a day's running in the new Lotus T128 at Valencia, after the team stayed on at the Spanish venue for an extra day's testing having cured the power steering issues that blighted it earlier in the week.

Sato and Viso retain KV seats

Takuma Sato and EJ Viso will stay on with KV Racing Technology for the 2011 IndyCar season, with both now running in Lotus colours. Group Lotus had announced last year that it would be expanding its partnership with KV in advance of its move into engine and aero kit supply under the 2012 rules, and KV has now confirmed that it will be Viso's entry that joins Sato's under the Lotus banner.
