Lariche to stay in F2 for 2011

Belgian driver Benjamin Lariche will return to Formula 2 for a second season in 2011, and hopes to be a contender for race wins. Shanghai track set for March inspection

The Shanghai International Circuit, host of the Chinese Grand Prix, will undergo an FIA inspection in March before it gets the green light for this year's race. The event was listed as provisional on the 2011 calendar published by the FIA in November, as some upgrades were needed to the track.

Mikkelsen delayed in early incident

Andreas Mikkelsen's debut with Skoda UK on the Monte Carlo Rally has got off to a disastrous start after he clipped a wall and had to stop to make repairs very early on the event's opening stage. The Norwegian brushed a wall with the left rear of his Fabia just a few corners onto the 36.87-kilometre Le Moulinon to Antraigues stage, and had to pull off and stop shortly afterwards.

Andersson upbeat despite early exit

Proton driver P-G Andersson has refused to be downbeat about his second-stage retirement from the Monte Carlo Rally, with the Swede hoping for more outings in the Satria Neo S2000. Andersson's car retired from 11th place yesterday after suffering damage inflicted by a puncture in the second stage.
